It has been reported in the UK press that travel insurance for over 75s is becoming more and more expensive. Age Concern UK has expressed alarm at some of the cripplingly high costs for travel insurance for the over 65 age group.
A 77 year old woman from Blackpool tried to get travel insurance from her house contents insurer for a week in Hungary and was quoted a ridiculous £200. This was almost as much as her holiday cost.
